NAMA judges named

Organisers of the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) have announced the names of judges who will oversee the nomination process.
The 11 judges, comprising musicians, DJs, media personalities, etc will have the chore of scrutinising outstanding talent in the music world and selecting the best experienced nominees.
The judging panel consists of: DJ Lischen Khachas – a music producer, singer and DJ, DJ Lischen holds a diploma in sound engineering and music production from the Namibian College of Arts. Oscar Bonginkosi Mdlongwa famously known as Dj Oskido. He is a South African recording artist, performer, radio presenter, record producer, entrepreneur and a music legend.  Axali Doeseb, a NAMAs Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, Namibia’s first post independent conductor of the Namibian National Symphony Orchestra and composer of the Namibian National Anthem – “Namibia Land of the Brave”.
Jasmine Dotiwala, is an English-born broadcaster, producer, director and columnist. She worked with talent, moguls and celebrities across the world.  Tajuddeen Adepetul is one of the 15 most powerful men in the Nigerian entertainment industry, one of the African continents most respected and popular music entertainment moguls.
Karina Barbosa, is the top music entertainment and fashion industry mogul in Angola and the leading major Angolan promoter. Leo Manne is the senior vice-president for the Southern African region for Africa’s number one most popular music television channel, Trace TV which runs various TV channels.
DJ Lomo is a radio presenter/producer at NBC for over 15 years and the owner of Lomo Productions & Entertainment, an events management company. Monali Shah is head of integrated marketing communications, Central East West Africa for The Coca-Cola Company. Gerald Johr is a leading Namibian businessman, merchant and entrepreneur.
Freddy Taylor is known as the Prince of Soul, Freddy rose to fame after winning the NBC Music Makers Award in the 1990s. In 1995, Taylor became the first Namibian artist to sign with an international recording company in Germany.
The NAMAs are scheduled for 6 and 7 May 2016 and the venue yet to be confirmed.
